About the Project
For this project, I had to create a series of packaging designs, as well as branding, for a fake company. This was for my Design Fundamentals class, and we also had to design the branding for the company before actually designing the packaging. The company was a luxurious chocolate cafe called the Coco Cafè. We also had to bring in packaging into class and measure the dimensions of the opened packages to create a dieline for the item.
Sketching
When coming up with a logo for the company, I wanted to have a fancy badge-like logo that would look good on various packaging. So I sketched out a few ideas before ultimately landing on the logo you see above. I chose a warm color palette as well as typefaces for the headline and body fonts.
The Packaging
For the packaging part of this project, I had to design a dieline for one of the packages as well as create three other package designs on psd mockups. When designing the dieline, I took inspiration from other chocolate companies and the way they designed the packaging for their chocolate bars. I used some of that inspiration to apply it to the design of the dieline. For the other packaging designs, I did more research and I took note of how most luxurious brands design their packaging, and applied that to my other designs.
